Common Errors People Make When It Comes To Weight Release (6/26/2010)
COMMON ERRORS PEOPLE MAKE WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHT RELEASE A few tips to help you with lifestyle modification... 1.  USING THE WORD ''LOSE''Let''s substitute the word ''RELEASE'' for ''LOSE'' and I''ll tell you why.  When you lose something, don''t you have the expectation of someday finding it again?  As in when you lose your grandmother''s ring for instance.  You hope and wish that one day you will find it.  When you are in ''RELEASE'' mode your intention is to let it go permanently.2.  I WANT/NEED/HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHTIf you are always ruminating and obsessing about your current circumstance you will continue to attract that to you.  It''s important to visualize yourself as being trim, slim, firm and strong.  Begin to focus on the body you choose to have and you will create it and slip into it more easily.  You are choosing to implement permanent lifestyle changes.3.  I DON''T HAVE TIME FOR EXERCISEReally...make the time.  Aren''t you worth it?  When you focus on not having enough time, that''s what you get...not enough time.  When I find I am not able to fit in a full workout, I don''t become discouraged.  I make good use of the time I have at that moment.  I will do 40 minutes of bike riding rather than my usual 60 minutes.  Why forgo an opportunity to get some exercise in?Another thing I would like to point out is that it''s important to choose exercise you enjoy.  Folks who engage in strenuous, excruciating exercise tend to give it up because they can''t maintain the level of effort it requires.  Find things that you enjoy doing and you will easily stick with it.4.  I''LL HANG ONTO MY FAT CLOTHES...JUST IN CASEIt is very important to get rid of them immediately as your weight continues to come down.  Do not fall into the trap of having several different sizes of clothes in your closet.  It will be too easy for you to fill them up again!5.  I MESSED UP, I''LL START AGAIN NEXT WEEKA minor setback on Monday doesn''t have to turn into a full blown binge for the entire day or for the whole week.  Get yourself back up on the horse again ASAP.  Getting back on track quickly is a wonderful self-esteem booster.6.  WEIGHING YOURSELF CONSTANTLYYou will set yourself up for failure by doing this.  An individuals weight fluctuates throughout the day.  A great tip to psychologically prepare yourself to be in a slender body is to write down the perfect weight range for you on a piece of paper and tape it over the window of your scale and no peeking!7.  I''M NOT MOTIVATEDJust get started.  By doing so you will gain momentum and that is what will inspire you to continue.  Hypnosis is an excellent tool for self-empowerment.  Allow me to be a part of your SUCCESS equation.  I can help you turn procrastination into ACTION.  Let me help you put the umph back in TRIUMPH!Stay tuned, more to come!Visit my web site

HYPNOSIS FOR WEIGHT RELEASE (6/09/2010)
Can you imagine how wonderful I felt when Corey told me I helped him get his life back? Thank you Corey for your trust in me, belief in yourself, determination and commitment to the process!  Mr. Milman has given his consent to share his story.  In fact he''s proud to do so.  He has become our biggest cheerleader!  Thank you, Corey.  Dropping LBs: Corey Milman of East Meadow lost 61 poundswww.newsday.comCorey Milman, a 59-year-old sales representative from East Meadow, underwent hypnosis six months ago, which he believes helped him to lose 61 pounds.   Corey Milman: ''I eat to live instead of living to eat'' Originally published: June 4, 2010 5:42 PMUpdated: June 8, 2010 3:07 PMBy LINDA PERNEY Special to Newsday Corey Milman of East Meadow lost 61 pounds after he underwent hypnosis and realized that he was eating too much. With some exercise and an updated diet, he now "eats to live instead of living to eat." Height: 5''7"Weight before: 238 (Dec. 2008) Weight after: 177 (June 2010)His story: Six months ago, Corey Milman had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and was very overweight. Today, that picture has changed radically. "I now do not snore; my sleep apnea is gone; my medications are being reduced under medical supervision," says Milman. How did he manage to make such a change? "I went for hypnosis," says Milman. "I had five sessions. My therapist listened to what my issues were - my issue was that I ate too much."As Milman is quick to point out, his weight-loss is an ongoing project. "I continue to reinforce myself since all of my sessions were recorded." But his new way of eating represents more than a change of diet. "This is a change of lifestyle," Milman says. "Now, I eat to live instead of living to eat."His diet: "I don''t count calories. I eat sensibly," says Milman. "No bagels and no desserts. These things were put into my therapy, and I have no desire for them. But I eat pretty much anything I want to eat. I don''t eat between meals - I don''t get hungry. And I wind up getting fuller faster because I eat much more slowly than I used to. And I don''t eat anywhere near as much as I used to."His exercise: "I am on the aerobic treadmill three times a week, doing at least two miles each time."His advice: "There''s something out there that will help you lose weight," says Milman. "What worked for me might not work for someone else; you just have to find what works for you. But the key is to stop thinking about a diet and think about a lifestyle change."Hypnosis is an excellent tool for self-empowerment! I invite you to allow me to be part of your SUCCESS equation.  Eugenia E. Karahalias, LCSW-R, CASAC, CCHVisit my web site

Feeling Stagnant? The Culprit May Just Be The CLUTTER In Your Life! (5/06/2010)
Feeling Stagnant?  Are you lacking creativity and imagination?  The culprit may just be the clutter in your life!  It''s spring and that means "Spring Cleaning" is in order.  Hoarding often is associated with feeling drained and tired, procrastination, perfectionism, hopelessness and even guilt, shame and fear.  Hypnosis is an excellent tool to treat all the above.  Decluttering your home, your mind, and your life can help you reduce alot of stress from your life bringing you more peace and serenity which equals more happiness.A great way to begin getting rid of clutter is to choose worthy charities to donate your "stuff" to.  I frequently empty my drawers and closets and donate my clothes to charities that help victims of domestic violence and to organizations that help women re-entering the work force either after recovering from substance abuse or from incarceration.  Most recently I donated costume jewelry I haven''t worn in eons to my church rummage sale and I also donated priceier items for a chinese auction to support the anti-heroin campaign here on Long Island.  I cannot begin to tell you how good it makes me feel inside and out!Hypnosis is an excellent tool for self-empowerment.  The power of your unconscious mind helps you release what has been holding you back.  You will gain a sense of being in control, feeling calmer and have an improvement in health and finances just by getting rid of the clutter in your life.Visit my web site

Are You Ready For Beach Weather? (5/05/2010)
So are you ready for beach weather?Hmmm? Are you feeling out of control?  Powerless?  If so, hypnosis is an excellent tool for self empowerment.  It jump starts your will power and allows you to take your power back.  Here is what Stacey S. had to say after just one visit: Good news, I have been listening to tape and have lost weight. I can actually fit into things I could not last year. I really sing your praises, and while out to lunch with my boss, we discussed how my eating habits have changed (for the better). I don''t eat the bread basket and save half my lunch - just think after only one session. And here is what Corey M. had to say on April 26th: Eugenia, "PB" (Poster Boy) checking in. Thought I would give you the official results as of 6months.  No desserts, No bagels, Not desiring them either!!  I do exercise; I drink more water!!!  Woohoo!!  The 6 month final release is 59lbs and still the journey continues. Why It Is NOT A Good Idea To Request That Your Memories Be Erased (2/27/2010)
THE PAST IS THE PAST. Our life experiences are not meant to paralyze us, but sometimes they do. Sometimes we dwell on the past and cannot leave it behind.  You cannot change the past, however, you CAN release the emotional charge a particular memory or event holds for you allowing you to change your perception of an event. The result is in your becoming a much stronger, happier individual than if you simply swept the memory under an internal mental rug. It is not recommended to purposely remove memories, even the painful ones. I think it''s unethical.  There is something of value to learn from every experience you have, even the difficult ones. The object is to effectively  detach/distance yourself from  the emotionally charged content to allow for an impartial/neutral review of the target event should you ever need to remember that information for some reason or should there be a message to learn from it. Challenging experiences teach us what to avoid, what to do differently, what you might say to help someone else if they were in the same situation. Hypnosis helps the individual detach (dissociate) from the memories and have their unconscious examine those memories and extract any useful information and knowledge.  An individual may then keep those lessons and choose to discard the rest. In the future when faced with a particular person or thought from a past emotionally disturbing event you will find that you are surprisingly unaffected by it. Hypnosis enables you to look at things in a way that is so detached you feel nothing (neutral). This is what facilitates and promotes rapid growth in an individual.  Out of the past emerges a new you. "I treasure all of the experiences I''ve had in my life. Each experience in your life was absolutely necessary in order to take you to the next place, and the next, up until this very moment." - Dr. Wayne DyerVisit my web site

The Power Of Choice (2/05/2010)
I wanted to share this amazing story with you all.  I could not have conveyed the message to you any better. ~ EugeniaAs taken from Bob Proctor''s Insight of the Day:The Woman Behind the CounterThe other day I was in the Phoenix Airport on my way to a meeting in Denver. Unsure of how long it would take to get the car parked, get the luggage checked, get through the security line, and get to our gate, we (my husband Michael and I) ended up at the airport early. Once we parked our belongings at the gate, I did what I always do when I''m early to the airport; I headed toward the News Stand for the sole purpose of staring at the tabloid magazine covers. Yes, I know, it''s a nasty habit, but before you cast your stones, I should tell you I only allow myself to read the COVERS of the magazines. JUST the covers. And even in those few moments I can feel my brain cells rotting and my dislike for humanity mounting. However, on this particular trip to the News Stand I witnessed something much more fascinating, and disturbing, than any tabloid could offer. In this particular News Stand there was a friendly looking gentleman. He had a pleasant face that was graced with a cheerful smile. He and I were hovering in the same area; I was looking at the magazines, he was looking at the Snickers bars. Though, "looking" wouldn''t be the right word -- "agonizing over" would be a better way of putting it. You see, this friendly-seeming man was about 200 pounds from healthy. As we stood silently by each other, I could hear him as he struggled to breathe, and watch him shift uncomfortably from foot to foot as he worked his way down the candy display.I watched him out of the corner of my eye as he picked up a regular sized Snickers with his right hand and a KING sized Snickers with his left. He looked at his two options, back and forth, back and forth. He rolled them around in his hands, crinkled their wrappers, contemplating his decision. After at least a minute, he reached to put the regular sized one back ... a shame, I thought. He was so close. But then, like a flash of lightening from above, at the very last moment, he THREW the KING sized Snickers back. It landed atop the gum with a deafening THUD. The man turned and looked at me with regular Snickers in his hand. Gripped it tightly, shrugged, and smiled. For a moment, I saw a glimpse of pride on his face; the kind of pride that comes from taking control of your life. Granted, it wasn''t the BEST decision, but it WAS a step in the right direction and it was clear he was pleased with himself. I smiled back and nodded; a silent congratulations for a job well done.He took his regular sized Snickers strutted to the register where a 50ish woman waited. She was friendly in an abrasive sort of way, and as I moved to look at the cover of Men''s Health I heard her say to the man (who was still in the glow of his recent victory):"Sure you don''t want the KING sized Snickers? Looks awful good..."The man who had just made a good decision, froze. He stared at the woman behind the counter. In that moment, it was as if the Phoenix Airport stopped.... As he stared at the abrasive woman behind the counter, I stared at him. The woman reached for the KING sized and waved it in front of his face. "Don''t do it. Don''t do it," I willed him. But in the next moment, he nodded, took the KING sized Snickers, paid, and slowly walked away.I wanted to say something, but it wasn''t my place. As he walked past, he didn''t look my way, instead he looked to the ground and to the KING sized decision he held in his hand. Now, it would be easy to blame the woman behind the counter for the demise of our Snicker loving friend. She didn''t HAVE to offer him the KING size when he seemed to be perfectly content. However, it is not her fault; she was only doing her job (I swear they get paid on commission -- every time I try to buy a magazi... I mean, a pack of gum... they always ask if I would like water or a snack. It can''t JUST be because they''re really concerned for my hydration or hunger). No, the responsibility lies solely in the man who ultimately made the choice. We relate to this man. Whether you struggle with your weight, or you struggle to make good financial decisions. Maybe you make poor decisions, of any size, in your personal relationships. Whatever your vice may be (and there may be many), we have all been here before; on the brink of a breakthrough, only to fall short with no one to blame but ourselves. Whether you''ve been there once or been there 100 times, there is an important lesson to learn here; one that may not be the most obvious.Who you are now does not determine who you will be.I''ll say it again. Who you are now does not determine who you will be.Sounds nice, right? Easy lesson, nice lesson, hopeful lesson. The catch is this: you have to MAKE it so. The difference between who you are NOW and who you will BE happens because of choice. It doesn''t have to be a heroic choice, it can be small/consistent choices made everyday in the right direction, that make the difference. But they MUST be made and can only be made by you.How do you do this?First: start seeing yourself NOW as the person you will BE. If you''re broke, start seeing yourself as un-broke. If you''re alone, see yourself wrapped in the warmth of a healthy relationship. If you''re heavier than you would like to be, see yourself thin.Second: It is not enough to just SEE yourself there, you must start behaving in a way that mirrors the behaviors of the kind of person you will become. Un-broke people make sound decisions when it comes to finances -- do that now. Healthy people find joy in salads and low-fat dressing -- you should too.Third: Stay focused. There is a good chance that others will continue to see you as you are now, and that''s ok. It''s not their fault. They may not be aware that you have made a decision to change; not aware that you are making small consistent decisions toward the person you want to become. They may not SEE those small decisions or REALIZE what they are adding up to. Stay focused on YOU. On YOUR vision for yourself. And don''t be afraid to verbalize your desires to those around you so they can aid in your transformation. This is where I believe our friend at the candy counter went astray:Perhaps he was seeing himself not as who he IS, but who he could BE -- well, healthy, happy...I KNOW he was making a small decision in the right direction...But when he got to the counter, the abrasive woman saw him as he WAS: a man who "must" love KING sizes. And instead of staying focused, instead of standing as a warrior for his future-self, he crumbled with the words "I will always be this" ringing in his defeated ears.We all relate to this story. We have all been there. I just urge you to not go there again. Fight for you future self, and beware the woman behind the counter. When all was said and done, I walked out of the News Stand empty-handed and heavy hearted. I took my seat at Gate C27 and waited for our plane to arrive.(Post Note: Michael ended up sitting next to this man on the plane. When I told Michael this story, looong after the flight, he said, "That makes it worse ... he was such a nice guy.")Kindra HallKindra Hall is a storyteller with 18 years of experience. Testimonials Are The BEST Compliment Your Clients Can Give You! (12/10/2009)
My hypnosis sessions with Eugenia Karahalias were for weight loss and weight management. I am beyond satisfied with my results. After completing 5 sessions I have lost 25 lbs. The hypnosis has conditioned me to eat slowly, savor my food and make me aware of when to walk away from food. I have no cravings for sweets, I no longer eat snacks and I am fully satisfied from my 3 meals a day. I now know when to stop. I no longer live to eat, I eat to live. I continue to use my recorded sessions at home for continued conditioning and relaxation. My goal is to lose between 50 and 60 lbs and I now know that I will be able to achieve this.I cannot thank her enough for putting me on the right track to achieve better eating habits and better health. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to lose weight comfortably and successfully without dieting and feel better about himself. Thanks for everything. I am there for you anytime. What you have done has been inspiring. ~ Corey M.And I thank you Corey for your determination, motivation, committment and trust in me and the process.

Network, Network, Network! (12/10/2009)
I would like to share this  with you from Lynn Pierce''s  Change One Thing Ezine publication. "Empowering You to Awaken Your Passion and Live the Life of Your Dreams".   Lynn Pierce discusses 3 Fears that can stand in the way of your success.Lynn Pierce says..."Give your expertise freely and new clients will beat a path to your door."  What are you afraid of giving away? Lynn Pierce''s Featured Article: Are These 3 Fears Killing Your Business?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are 3 dominant fears that keep showing up over and over in slow growing or stagnant businesses. You''ll notice all 3 of these fears focus on outside influences. The good news is that all 3 are easily turned around by a small shift in your perception about how you deliver quality solutions to your clients.Fear #1: Fear of Giving Too Much Away"If I give my expertise away, no one will buy my product".  This fear is prevalent. I hear this over and over from clients in diverse industries. Since giving and receiving are opposite sides of the same coin, if you embrace the laws of prosperity it''s impossible to hold this belief and be prosperous.Of course you should be paid for your expertise and if you deliver high quality, you should be paid top dollar. But that doesn''t mean you don''t also give information away as a service to your clients and also as an introduction to potential clients.Be confident enough in your ability to over-deliver to know you can afford to give your potential clients a sample of what you can do for them, and they''ll be so impressed they''ll want to do business with you. From personal experience I can tell you that one giveaway I did several years nearly tripled my small and growing ezine list in just 3 weeks. Joint venture genius Mark Hendricks taught me how to do this with his 12 Days of Christmas promotion. That was the boost I needed to reach critical mass and get my message out to more people. And I did it by giving my knowledge away first!  Back then I started giving away the mini-course, "9 Steps to Getting to Yes Without Selling". I built a separate list that equaled the size of my entire ezine list in only one week. And that was the week between Christmas and New Years! That''s the power of giving your knowledge away. Fear #2: Fear of Cross-Promotion"If I promote someone else''s product, they''ll steal my clients".  If you are delivering a quality product and customer service, why would your clients leave you? This is one of the most irrational fears business owners have. When you have the confidence to promote other products to your clients, it shows that the relationship you are building means enough to you that you want them to have access to every possible tool that would make their life easier or their business more successful. When your clients see that it''s not all about you, you''ll see your referrals increase and your client retention rate go up, not down. You are acting as their trusted advisor and exposing them to opportunities they may not hear about anywhere else.  Think back in your own experience. How many times have you been grateful for someone forwarding an email or calling to tell you about something that ended up being a huge benefit to you?  I witnessed a great demonstration of introducing complementary services in the Internet marketing industry many of the big Internet gurus. For the last several years I have been watching these guys bringing Internet experts to their clients, sometimes several each month. Now that''s service! And guess what? All of their businesses keep on growing!  I know the effort I put out to bring my clients all the tools they need to make their Internet businesses successful has only enhanced my relationship with my clients. I have modeled much of the way I offer my teleseminars and promote other people''s products on what I learned from watching the best.  And I only promote products and services I believe will be helpful to my clients.Fear #3: Fear of Competition"Too many people cover the same information I do. I need to discredit them before my clients buy their products".  It''s OK to point out your strengths and even to state that you have a different philosophy on accomplishing goals than your competitors. That''s part of what makes you unique. But don''t do it by poking holes in other businesses, and certainly, don''t attack them personally. I would suggest that you look instead at how what you do may add another layer of knowledge to what others in your field offer. It''s highly likely that there are ways you can increase your business by entering into a cooperative relationship with your "competition". You''ll find ways that you dovetail into each other''s areas of expertise in a way that will benefit both of your clients as long as your in alignment.  So don''t get caught in this dangerous trap in your business. I knew this wouldn''t be a problem with my expert faculty at "Women''s Business Empowerment Summit" the first year I created it because they are true professionals and their desire to see the attendees succeed was their primary concern. It''s been the same every year. They all knew the quality of their products and also the value of what the other speakers were offering and how it could compliment their products and services.  All of these faculty members exemplify the spirit of true professionalism.  None are victims of these 3 fears that kill business growth. They give plenty of their knowledge away in teleseminars, mini-courses and special reports and videos. They are happy to refer products and services of other experts to their clients as well.  In that way, you give the greatest benefit to your clients and at the same time you''ll be rewarded with rapid growth in your business. Do you think this attitude of abundance and sharing has something to do with why the people I just told you about are considered top experts in their fields? Think about it next time you see yourself heading towards one of these fears. If you come from a place of service to your clients, you will be rewarded with a business filled with many more happy clients.Until next week, I''d love to hear your thoughts. Study: Hypnosis Works To Treat Hospitalized Smokers - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News - FOXNews.com (11/01/2009)
Last weekend my friend Ron ended up in the hospital for an emergency colonoscopy.  His doctor was very concerned because Ron has a "heart condition" and he had found traces of blood in his stool.  And yet Ron continued to smoke despite the health risks.   After the fact Ron was able to smile and say that this hospitalization was the catalyst that got him to finally quit smoking.  He admits that while in the hospital it was easy not to smoke since it was prohibited and he was feeling so poorly.  Ron was concerned that once he returned home he would return to the habit.  Upon discharge from the hospital, Ron had a smoking cessation hypnosis session with me to reinforce his SUCCESS.  Here is what Ron said following the hypnosis session:"I feel relaxed and smoke-free. I couldn''t stand the smell of smoke in my car or house anymore.  Eugenia makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable while in her care and she conducts herself in a very professional manner.  Hypnosis really assists with managing cravings, it''s like a fleeting thought.  Nothing that I can''t handle."This is what Faysal Hasan MD. @ North Shore Medical Center said about hypnosis: Hypnotherapy appears to be quite effective and a good modality to incorporate into a smoking cessation program after hospital discharge.¯Please read the rest of the article here:Study: Hypnosis Works to Treat Hospitalized Smokers - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News - FOXNews.comPosted using ShareThisAllow me to be part of your SUCCESS equation too!  Just in time for National Smoke-out day, November 19th!  Call to schedule your appointment today!http://unleashyourfullpotentialnow.com/

Reiki Shown To Improve Health (10/24/2009)
Reiki Shown to Improve Health http://www.massagemag.com/News/massage-news.php?id=8036(Please click on this article  which was posted in massagemag.com, or cut and paste the link)Reiki: A Brief OverviewReiki is an ancient Tibetan method of natural healing that was rediscovered by a Japanese physician and widely taught as a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means God™s Wisdom or the Higher Power¯ and Ki which is life force energy¯. So Reiki is actually spiritually guided life force energy¯. It is administered by laying on hands¯ and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy¯ flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one™s life force energy¯ is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it™s high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki provides an avenue to remove blockages and imbalances, and to facilitate health and personal growth. It is used to re-align and balance the chakras.A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body (physical), emotions (emotional), mind (mental) and spirit (spiritual) creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. It is a pure energy form that supports our natural ability to heal on all levels. Many have reported miraculous results.Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki provides a source of restoring energy while one is ill, under treatment, or in recovery. Reiki energy has a mind of its own and goes where it is most needed. An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an attunement¯ given by a Reiki Master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of life force energy¯ to improve one™s health and enhance the quality of life. The Reiki process does not deplete the practitioner of energy, as they are a conduit rather than the source of the energy. In the Reiki healing process, the energy fills the practitioner™s body first, and then flows out through the practitioner™s hands into the recipient. Its use is not dependent on one™s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of all ages and backgrounds. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki System of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.Eugenia E. I just don''t like where I work." Sound familiar? From unbearable co-workers to depressing work environments, there things that can make even the best job a living hell. Here are some signs it''s time to look for a new job.Sign No. 1: Your co-workers are annoying.Obnoxious people can invade your work life. Let''s face it, not everyone gets along perfectly. But you need to have some sort of harmonious relationship with fellow employees to get the job done. How are you supposed to get any work done when these guys keep getting in the way? They are distracting and impede productivity. Most offices have a Gossip, that one person who has the "scoop" all the time and is not afraid to share it. Misery loves company, and finds it often in the Whiner, who isn''t afraid to complain and bellyache. And everyone has the Neighbor whose noisy distractions include his cellular ringtone, speakerphone and radio. Sign No. 2: The environment is toxic.Everyone experiences job highs and lows, but discontent could also be a sign of a chronically depressing work environment or even a company in peril. A bad work environment is reflective of the culture of an entire business. Do you work in a less-than-nurturing atmosphere? Is morale constantly low? Have you been complaining for two solid years? It could be an organizational problem that applying feng shui to your cube just won''t fix.Sign No. 3: You''re mentally exhausted by the end of the day.Stress can cause low morale, decreased productivity and apathy towards work. Plus, it can spill into your personal life and even have a negative effect on your health. Today there are fewer people who are taking on more and more work. American workers experience burnout at an alarming rate. According to CareerBuilder, 68 percent of workers feel burnout at work, and 45 percent said their workloads are too heavy. Yes, we all have to pick up some slack and "take one for the team" from time to time. But if there''s no end in sight, do yourself and your health a favor and dust off your rĆ©sumĆ©.Sign No. 4: Your boss is a nightmare.Even though this person is your boss, it doesn''t give him license to do anything he wants. If you have a lousy boss, even the best job in the world can make life a living hell. Your relationship with your supervisor plays a big role in your overall professional happiness and success. Fighting to have your boss removed or waiting for your boss to change or get fired are rarely successful tactics. If you are working for someone who is always absent, unavailable, self-absorbed or untrustworthy, it''s time to look for a better supervisor and a better opportunity.Sign No. 5: You''re watching the clock... every 10 minutes.Though you might not like to work, it''s even worse when you are bored while you''re there. One can only watch so many videos on YouTube or bid on unneeded things on eBay. If you aren''t feeling challenged, that''s a sign that you need additional responsibilities or a change roles. And be warned, if you don''t have any responsibility or find yourself with nothing to do, management might be trying to phase you out and you might be in danger of losing your job.Sign No. 6: You get no respect.Does any of this sound familiar? Your ideas aren''t taken seriously; there are no opportunities for advancement; the boss ignores you; co-workers alienate you; you''re discouraged from improving skills with a course or seminar; you''re passed over for a promotion -- again; or you''re excluded from key projects and strategizing sessions. So why are you still giving this organization your time, energy and great ideas?Sign No. 7: Your co-workers act like animals. They live for themselves and only themselves. They irritate you. They offend you. They have no manners or ethics. And you work with them all. There''s the Office Thief who steals your ideas. The Shirker arrives late, leaves early and disappears whenever work is near. The Buck-passer unloads her work onto everyone else and blames others for her mistakes. The Procrastinator delays things until the last possible minute, slowing you down by not having the information you need to meet your deadlines. The Interrupter stops by your cubicle 10 times a day to chat about her latest boyfriend despite your ringing telephone and pressing deadlines. And don''t forget the infamous Elevator Person who rides up only one floor instead of taking the stairs.Sign No. 8: Nobody communicates.Although we live in a world of e-mail, cell phones, instant messages, Blackberries, WiFi and, yes, even face-to-face conversation, there can still be a complete lack of communication. Whether it''s a co-worker who''s not returning your voice mail or the CEO not conveying a company''s goals and accomplishments, the breakdown of communication can be frustrating and detrimental to your job. It can cost you an account, make you to miss a deadline, cause you to lose a client, and even get you fired.Sign No. 9: You''re not valued.Forty-three percent of workers do not feel appreciated, and one-fourth of workers feel that they are just a "number" within their organization. You need to realize that you deserve credit for your successes. Recognition is important, and good companies implement programs to let employees know they are valued. Is your company doing anything to reward your efforts? Do you ever receive bonuses, perks or positive feedback? If your boss has never heard of positive reinforcement verbal or otherwise, find a company that will value your talents.Sign No. 10: You feel stifled. What kind of quality of life do you have? Is your 40-hour week turning into a 24/7 grind? While salary may seem like the end all and be all, your quality of life determines your overall happiness. How much time you spend on the job, working conditions, supervisors and subordinates can positively and negatively impact your job outlook. If you dread the time you spent at work, it should be a clear indicator that it''s time to break free. A job shouldn''t stifle you creatively, mentally or physically.Bottom line:Considering what you don''t like about your current situation should give you insight into what you are seeking in future endeavors. If you know what your priorities and preferences are and actively seek them, work can be an enjoyable experience. If, however, you''ve answered yes to more than four of these signs, then you might want to get started on a new job search.
